Panhandler story

The biggest trouble I have is reminding my self to be patient--more than once(just the other nite in fact!)I have been approached by someone--and I am already blowin them off in my mind--and it turns out to be another driver with a legitimate question etc.....But I'm not sure if problem is any worse today than in years past...
Just thought I would throw that out there...............

 

wow Ladytrucker, your friend sure did get put through the wringer on that one! Why on earth you wouldn't open the box and make sure what you were buying worked or not just boggles my mind...

 

That's what I said. But honestly and hopefully this doesn't sound mean but i'm kind of glad it was her and not some honest person. Even though she's my friend she scams people herself. She definitely got a taste of her own medicine and told her that. It didn't teach her much because she still scams but I thought it was pretty funny a scammer getting scammed by another scammer.

One guy at the Dallas Flying J told me he needed money for the DART train because his wife caught him with another woman and she kicked him out and he needee money to get to his moms house. Had to admit that was original.

 

windsmith, last night in elkton at the J she needed a bus ticket, told her lets walk up to the mobile chapel and see what help she could there.

she said and i quote, " whats up with all this mobile chapel schizz" and turned and walked away.

 

I would have dismissed her after that, not about needing help but where it comes from in time of need should be a moot point.

 

Years ago my wife and I had a restaurant and there was a young couple with a little kid down at the corner holding a sign that said "will work for money or food". About 4 hours later somebody came in and said they were still there so I figured they must be starving by now. I told a waitress to go get them and tell em they could come and clean up around the parking lot or something and we would give them a nice meal.
She came back alone and said they told her that was an old sign and they were only working for money today.
