I pefer the true loose leaf versions, if they don't already have the three holes punched I do it. If you want to remove a page for what ever reason open the three ring binder and remove it, no one but you is the wiser. I get the small three ring binder that are perfect for log sheets at Walmart but Staples has a better selection, I have different colors for my two part time jobs. The neater the better.

Superhauler did what I use to do. Take out the staples and use a clipboard or if it has holes use a binder. Always keep past 7 days in it. Since you are local you do not need to keep the old ones for taxes, so up to you if you want to save them or not.

If you really are running local, you don't even need the CURRENT day's log book page, let alone the previous 7 days. And if you are typically local and accept a longer run? You only have to have the log book pages for that run...NOT the previous days when you were running local.
In order to qualify, you've got to end your day at the same location you started at, within 12 hours, and stay inside of a 100-air-mile (115 statute mile) radius...and the company has to maintain a record of your hours worked. If all that is true, you don't need any documentation with you in regards to you HOS. Although still subject to the HOS regulations, you are exempt from the RODS requirement. -
when i was local.. place i drove for, i used an exempt drivers logbook. each page was for a week. documented times i started, clocked in and out for lunch, and clocked out at end of day. also attached a pretrip/post trip inspection page. if i worked more that 12 hrs, had to do the graph log. turned it in end of week
