Sidebox for your question the rules are the same as your e-logs, i use my pilot card for a straight edge and always make my logs neat and legible.

Make sure you remember to mark your change of duty stats whenever you stop...

Dont forget to write your BOL # on your logs or write "empty" if your empty, once your loaded you can scratch it out and write your BOL # below it.

Remember to mark your pre and post trip inspections.

You'll be fine, paper logs are easy.

I probably heard it the same place you heard the nonsense about megacarrier drivers on e_logs running 11 hours .
Actually the previous carrier I worked for had advertised pay $750 to $1200 a week . After running a few months at 65 - 70 hours a week and never grossing over $750 I complained .
They told me I didn't know how to fill out logs . This was hopper bottom . They told me I should never show more than 30 minutes loading or unloading or average less than 60 mph for the day . They also did some runs not logged . They had 5 1/2 hour drop and hooks from Louisville to Henderson , KY . They would have some drivers headed from IN to MS stop in Louisville for a 10 hour break and run to Henderson and back during the break . That's when I moved to this carrier .

    Everyone is missing the point.!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

If the drivers would get paid good money and what they are worth, all drivers could and would run LEGAL....If the Carriers continue to rip off the drivers then it will never end.And people will do what they have to do to feed there FAMILIES.!!!!!

This is not and has not been a ''DRIVER ISSUE''.This is a Carrier Issue and has been for years. They are nothing but cheap nasty rotton people looking for dumb drivers to work for slave wages......PAY THE DRIVERS and it will be fixed.

Why do you think UPS and Wal Mart have the best safety rating in the Industry.Because they pay there driver very very well to run LEGAL.....

I actually have had drivers tell me that and more than once they get dogged and you even read it here so I am not advocating rumors, you got suckered into a bad deal like most people do from time to time. I run paper and never run anything close to 70 let alone 90 and paid well for my time.

I am paid very very well for my time..I just ran a load from Buffalo Ny to Detroit Mi.I deadheaded 60 miles and then ran 380 loaded miles. The load was 4,000 lbs.

I ran 100% ''legal'' and had 8 hours on this load from beginning to end.The load grossed $2500.00..:biggrin_25525:...Today i deadheaded 40 miles to the truck stop to take a 10 hour break and sleep.

My next load is $1500.00 to go 308 miles. The load is 10,000 lbs...

My point is this.If Carriers would give the drivers what they are worth,we would all run ''legal''..It's a no brainer..I am blessed to run ''legal'' 85% of the time..

When i run ''Illegal''.Chances are i screwed up and i am running cheap loads.

The point being missed is actually, "why is any driver working for a carrier that will not pay them decently?" Seems everyone feels the need to blame the carrier all the time, when in actuality, no one is forced to drive for anyone, let alone violate regulations to do so. We all seem to pride ourselves as being Americans, in the land of the free, etc, yet we are forced to drive for XYZ Carriers?

Thsi cheap, nasty rotten people looking for dumb drivers to work for slave wages, sounds more like something out of Karl Marx and the Communist manifesto than anything dealing with reality. Again, no one is forced to drive for anyone! If someone chooses to work under less than desirable pay conditions, that is a choice they make. And who is to tell if it is "slave wages"? You? It might be if living in NYC, but it might NOT be if living in the Midwest. Where a person lives, and the cost of living for that area has as much to do with whether someone is getting "slave wages" or not.

I have just never figured out why someone would feel the need to violate all the regulations and risk serious issues if they get into an accident instead of just moving on to work for someone else or go into business for themselves if they are not getting paid enough. Oh, but they can't be blamed for their poor choices. It must be the fault of someone else, like a nasty carrier. OMG. I feel like I am dealing with grade school children here.
