If you have to run 90 hrs a week to make ends meet, thats the wrong company to work for.

This was a full week of driving for me (only an extra right now) 53 hours in 6 days and I'll gross close to a 1000. Next Ive got 2 days at another location and I'll make approx 500 give or take in 2 days. Dont have to run stupid to make money. Granted I earn it but a little physical work keeps you in shape.

I'm surprised with this comment, I've done paper and e log, I believe the e logs can make one lazy, many I've spoken with on e logs don't bother to look up a route or much of anything else, it's already done for the driver unless they make the time to cross reference, take notes etc, it doesn't take much effort in changing ones status, I do find flaws with it, if allowed e logs will not allow one to think.

By the way, Side Box don't forget to note your mileage (hub) at or from midnight to midnight, It tells you how many miles are driven in 24 hrs Not sayin you will however, I worked for a company that wanted the miles driven per state, border to border

Well Where to start on this one......First of it does not matter if you are running one fudged log or 3 fake logs. you can still get busted. its so simple to do that. First thing DOT crash investigators love to do is fine out the last place you got fuel. Now since most places run computers the pull the receipt number and check the time in the computers database. busted for lying about fuel times now your at fault becasue your truck should not have been there in the first place. regardless if you pushed it ahead or behind.

Second I have gone through way to many inspections. I have fought with DOT officers I have had the give me reg after reg. just to pull out my big green book flip it to the page i need and shut them up. Now i am not going to do the work for anyone. It took me quite awhile to get the regs taged that open the windows for drivers. But if you have the big green book try reading it. and by the green book I dont mean the little green book safety gives you. thats only a 1/4 of the regs in the dot issued box. I have had them try everything from not signing a log to not being current on a log. there are more ways to skin a cat in that big green book and if you know them they can work in your favor instead.

Now as for pay. How you run your company is up to you. I can haul 2/mile frieght all day and make plenty of profit, keeping my truck and trailer well maintained, break down account up bills payed and so on and so on. but we all have are own ways and needs.
