Not going to worry about it myself, no budget to enforce and congress has already said no to any funding of the EOBR rule.

Well sounds to me you need to get a copy of the DOT Field book. Its A full size manual and about 3 inches thick. It clearly states that any logs signed are a certified log and if that days log is not sign or the previous 24 hours that corrections can be made. Under the dot interpertion of the rule, they say that a driver could make errors in their log therfor must be allowed time to correct them BEFORE certifing with the drivers signiture. And IF you knew how the system works which to many these days just want to drive and not worry about what dot is doing or changing, than you could easy beat a ticket for an unsigned log or a log is at your last change of duty......As long as you have shown coming on duty for the day DOT is required to give you time to update. It use to be you could run your log a full 24 hrs behind you... -
oh and i dont run 720 mile days cause i have to or crap pay. I find my freight and i get 2 or better. I run those miles cause i choose to. i run those miles cause i make good money and am still home EVERY WEEKEND. I run those miles because i get bored sitting at truck stops. I run those miles cause If i am in the truck i want to be working. I RUN THOSE MILES CAUSE I CHOOSE TO

I had a dot inspector come banging on my door one time in a rest area, demanding to see my logs , I was in sleeper so I told him to f--- off. lol he got all pissed off and started threats i told him to come back in a couple hours , that this is not a truck right now its my home and i am sleeping. he left and came back in six hours. I made sure my lines were drawn and up to date, my truck was dialed so he had nothing to gig me on. I never signed a log book till the day was ended. until you sign that document its just another piece of paper. by signing it your stating that its true and correct and at that point it becomes a legal and binding document.

ALWAYS do your recap in the front of the book,in my experience DOT will look at it and hand your book back.
Not always but 9/10 isn't bad.JIMROY Thanks this. -
Thats a very good point, I figure is you do 10 and 10 you should always have ten hours to drive every day , like back in the olden days when we did 10 driving then 8 in sleeper , every time they looked at my book they did just that recap and the page for that day, back then they said that the dot guys were only allowed to look at the page for that day, to see more they had to do an audit. not sure how true that was but like i said they only looked at that day and my recap. -

I like paper logs better because you can make sure you get to wherever you need to without running out of hours 15 mins before you get there.
I like elogs because when you get an inspection...they don't look at them(so far, I'm sure their are some that do).
