    Really? Then explain this:

Another fictional statement. Perhaps you're thinking of this provision that only applies to putting a driver OOS:

If you can cite regulations to back up your claims, then I will believe you. Otherwise, we should all assume that your statements are incorrect.

Not saying your way is wrong but I use loose leaf in a binder and never have a recap page and been inspected many times, I do my recap on the right side of the page and that is it.

I have received log book inspections in most of the 48 and no one has ever given me a ticket for it since my recap is completed on each page.

The recap is not required. But anything you can do to make the inspectors' job easier and give them a reason not to look closely at your log pages can only help you. Keeping the recap current is one of those things.

I run legal and in compliance with the regulations, my job is not to make a DOT officers job "easy."

That type of mentality is part of the many reasons this occupation has gone to hell.

I never said it was our job to lighten their workload. What I said was that if you take steps to do that, things will go more smoothly for you. They'll save their pent up frustration (and CSA point quota) for the next guy that DOESN'T have his t's dotted and his eyes crossed.

I agree . I saw nothing wrong with your post regarding the recap . Working against the 14 hour clock anything that can be done to reduce inspection time is a plus .

There is a lot of truth to that. Remember that we are dealing with people here. I know a lot of LEO's that have as many idiots and morons to deal with INSIDE their organization as they do out here among truckers. They can cop an attitude over what one of their colleagues does, they are dealing with issues at home, etc. Then a know it all truck driver crosses their scales. They have to do a log check and the driver wants to make their life more difficult. And you add all this up and it can lead to situation that did not need to happen. I also have no desire to do anything more than I have to, and feel no obligation to go out of my way to make law enforcement's job easier. They take on that when they take the job and the paycheck. But you do have to have a little sense on picking your fights. There is no need increase the friction every time you deal with an LEO. Running a simple thing like a recap can make both parties lives a little easier. But some folks are bound and determined to make life miserable for everyone.
