When I do my picks in LA, I write everything down on a big post it pad-then transfer that info at the end of the day so that it is legible.

Also one point he can consider is a computer not linked to the truck... I use DDL for over 10 years now! Easy to manage and DOT does not even bother to check it!
We all know that paper lie books are "lie books". As long as they make sense you are still a human! and you can put 2 one hour breaks to make one 2 hours break and then split with 8 in the sleeper!
I wonder how it will be when we will all be on e-logs!? -
This is correct.
Question 6: How should multiple short stops in a town or city be recorded on a record of duty status?
Guidance: All stops made in any one city, town, village or municipality may be computed as one. In such cases the sum of all stops should be shown on a continuous line as on-duty (not driving).The aggregate driving time between such stops should be entered on the record of duty status immediately following the on-duty (not driving) entry. The name of the city, town, village, or municipality, followed by the State abbreviation where all the stops took place, must appear in the “remarks” section of the record of duty status.

DOT don't check your logs because they won't tell you they don't know how from your computer,lol.So what happens with your logs if say your computer goes out and the only way of fixing it is putting it out of its misery with a hammer?
-
When I had multible stops,I would just flag it.DOT can give you a violation for a messy and non readable log.
-
I did not know you can do that by law! Is it Canadian or USA legislation? (saw your leaf and that is the reason I ask)
-
That's the U.S. regulation. Here is the Canadian version (exact same thing, basically)...
(c) if the driver is engaged in making deliveries in a municipality that result in a number of periods of driving time being interrupted by a number of short periods of other onduty time, the periods of driving time may be combined and the periods of other on-duty time may be combined;

Law is clear on computer logs (not linked to the truck) You have to keep on paper 7 days (14 in canada)... when they stop me I ask permission to print my current day, and I hand them onlypattyj Thanks this.
