Paper tags? Once and for all!

Ran with mine in 5 states on passenger front window ( out my line of sight), until permanent tags arrived.
Got call in once at scale house in Ok to show proof of temp.

 

A paper tag from the dealer or a temp prorated tag?

Saw a guy at a Florida scale running on a dealer tag, it got very expensive.

 

Yep ... Ran all 48 on a temp ... Once when I first got my truck and again 6 months later when I moved my truck to another carrier. Got asked to come in a couple of times, but a lot less than I expected.

 

You are. I did it too recently, no problems. Tag was in bottom right corner of windshield until I got my real plate.

 

Like old man said dealer tag or temporary IRP.

Dealer tag is a no no. You should have your temporary registration from the DMV ... There was no paper tag. No tag at all.

Got called in one time to show my temporary. Had the officer walk out to my truck once and ask for it and one who just asked if I had it. I was also driving what was clearly a brand new truck.

 

Concur, dealer tag gets you home, then you pay your #### commercial cmv and get temp. Here in Kanass.

 

I would take the day and get tag, it will correspond to dot #, ifta, 2290. Took me less then 6 hours on my last tag. Plate came with-in 3 weeks.
