    all you need while under load is a bol. Print an invoice afterwards for billing/accounting purposes.

    BOL for hauling the load and invoice them the freight charges afterwards.

    What I don’t understand is saving them a ton and doing a favor for them. They’ll expect that all the time. They are in business to make money, and I assume you are as well. Hard to make any meaningful amount of money if you’re focused on doing favors.

    As long as it’s not hazmat just a simple over the counter BOL will work.
    Make sure you have both the shipper and the receiver plainly on the bill, names addresses. And a accurate description of cargo and quantity.
