Well, hurray! Passed parallel parking test. But ground gears on road test, so repeat whole thing next week. I checked with school just to make sure. Retests and extra practice are free, at least. Son has TSA screening sched in two weeks so hopefully will have CDL by then. Just needs to ace the downshifting. At least he won't have s steep learning curve when he gets to orientation.
Parallel parking! Are they serious?

They taught us a formula in our school. So many turns this way, count to this many, then so many turns the other way.It worked good at the school, but when I had to do it for test,I flubbed it royally.I impeded traffic on my first test, and failed.Aced it the second time though.

Skunk_Truck_2590 Thanks this.

Difficulty depends on how much room you have to pull off the maneuver.

And be sure to turn the CB volume down, as you don't need to be listening to the peanut gallery's review of what you're doing as you're doing it.
nshore harleyguy and Y2K Thank this. -
I am convinced there are lots of drivers that don't even know how to back up into a spot. I know one guy that wouldn't park in a TS unless he could drive into the spot....if there were no spots he would go to the net rest area. I suppose that's why some places are such cluster $%^&* all the time.....the inconsiderate/lazy/incompetent ones would rather just set the brakes in the middle of the parking lot than try to back up. -
