    I do admit one issue that I don’t like. Currently I can move around a parking lot while in off duty. If they take that away it will be interesting..

    Life on the road is not always as simple as you make it out to be. If you have been OTR you should understand that. Cell phone apps do not function that way as you describe.

    My ELD is a Qualcomm unit that has been installed in my company truck. I drive OTR. The Qualcomm absolutely makes HOS easier. So if you are using a smartphone app, I cannot speak to that.

    The two applications are not the same. Plus the underlying principle still exists. Would you like the government mandating you have to install a security system in your home? Which you could be taken to court for not adhering to.
