At the Meade Auto Truck stop in Meade, KS. They routed me down 54 to El Paso for some reason, usually from Kansas city it's 35-44-277-20-10.

Its about 125 miles shorter going down 54. Probably less timewise, but when they are paid mileage, shortest usually wins out

We used to run this route to Kansas city. But then were rerouted over the toll roads in Oklahoma and Kansas. I was told it was due to a rise in the New Mexico weight distance tax and they were trying to minimize our mileage there. Maybe they decided that the extra hundred miles and tolls weren't really worth it.

I see... but that would add 20 miles to the trip and would probably be the same amount of time... And months ago, when I got same emissions problem, it happened right there on that CA-58 around Tehachapi... :biggrin_2552: Beautiful place but the mountain is full of ups and downs... very steep too...

Tangerine, don't you carry food in your truck? Like can food, bread, something to prepare salads, some dressings... don't you have a cooler, or a refrigerator or maybe a slow cooking pot or a portable stove? You can prepare very nice meals in the truck and $ave money... :yes2557:

It has been a while since last time I had a day like today... 6 hrs at the shipper... :biggrin_2552::biggrin_25510: Will get good detention for that... Oh yeah... :yes2557:

Best thing I did today was to take a nice shower in the morning at my co. warehouse in CA... :yes2557:
Then, headed to shipper about 20 mins from warehouse... and after 6 hrs to get loaded decided to come back to co. warehouse for my 10 hr break and avoid all the evening rush hr traffic. Will leave around 5 am central time and avoid traffic, and avoid a lot of heat... and will maximize my hrs this way... Will deliver this load in PA without recycling hrs.

And will not take US-54 and US-50 all the way to KS... :biggrin_25512: No, no, no... I will stay on major highways and go thru OK just in case truck feels sick again and I have to stop at co. terminal... But hopefully not...

I think truck is feeling better... This evening the orange light went away... :biggrin_25519: I have been keeping rpms high. This is what I was told... :yes2557:

I used to enjoy running US 54 when I used to go west. Granted I would never want to breakdown out there but it's a very relaxing drive in the middle of the night

    Rocks Thanks this.

I "said" CA-58 is ALSO full of ups and downs... just like I-5... C'mon Cranky... :biggrin_2552:

Yeah, let me know which valve that is... But let me tell you that the first time this truck had the emissions problem, Freightliner replace EVERYTHING under the hood... every valve, all DPF, SCR box, all injectors, delta P valve, etc, etc, etc... The second time, they cleaned the DPF filters...
