Back at home for a long weekend, unless someone calls with a tall stack of money to entice me back to the truck before Tuesday.
This week seemed a little longer due to a snafu on my load appointment in Dallas early Tuesday, that turned into Wednesday. So Rocks, I'll take a 6 hour live load over that any day LOL. A total contrast on Walmart DCs this trip. Terrell, TX was awesome. Although it was just one skid dropped there, they were nice in the shipping office and did me a favor as well - rearranged two back rows of pallets remaining on the truck. Knuckle-draggers at the freezer had left a tall single in the back, so no hard left turns on the first segment LOL. Pulled away and they had moved stuff around to where I really didn't even need a load lock. Top notch, and probably the best moment of the whole trip. Being in and out of there in an hour was a nice bonus and helped my remaining trip plan tremendously.
Monroe, GA was not so nice. I don't know if the ladies behind the glass left their souls at home and were trying to steal everyone else's or what. I kinda already knew what I was in for there, so just soldiered thru it and got my bills back 4 hours later.
Seems the work I had done in Dallas Monday afternoon cured the drive tire hop. So there is that, too. However I could now detect a little tire hop on the trailer since my truck is settled down. Since that one doesn't even start until about 72 mph and I can barely feel it, I probably won't waste any time tracking it down. I'll watch the tires and do something if they start wearing funny.
Another upside was scheduling my run back with a ten hour break in Ruston, LA to visit with some biker friends I haven't seen in a few years. I let them drag me off kicking and screaming for a second Whataburger fix for the week and some catching up.
