Thanks for the well wishes. We really appreciate it. We're both doing better. We were supposed to go out last night but on Sunday we requested a few more days to rest. They were cool with it. We're going back out Wednesday night or Thursday morning. My wife doesn't have her own account on TTR but she reads some of the "interesting" threads using my phone. -
If that's the old Petro at Exit 6 - I always thought it looked open under new ownership, passing by on the highway that is. Seems like there's lots of trucks parked down there when passing by. Never stopped in to check though.
When in the area, I'll usually run the extra miles to the TA Valley Grove, WV to use my shower points if I need one. Otherwise, I've noticed some retail parking lots off the 19A/B exits in Washington, PA. but never needed to stop and check them out. Usually on my way to/from Saxonburg when in that area so no need to stop.Rocks Thanks this. -
Yes... that one... I used to weight my loads there... when I pick up around Pittsburgh and going west... But now... will have to go much further for that...

Ohhh... really? I wish I knew which stores... I had about 38 mins left from my 11 when I decided to turn around and back to rest area because that t/s was closed... don't know anything else between here and Waynesburg, PA... Wanted to park at a small t/s at Waynesburg but the freaking elog showed that I would need a few more mins for that...

I was in there one of the last days it was a Petro. Girl behind the counter did say it was going to stay open as an independent but every time I pass it looks deserted although it did look like the Huddle House was open. Will be passing by there in about 2 hours. I will check againRedForeman and Rocks Thank this.

Are you going to pass by that truck stop on exit 6? It's closed now...
Nothing there... only a bunch of signs saying it's closed...
no scale, no restaurant, no nothing...
I didn't look much further... just took a sad breath and headed back to rest area... HEY, If you are going east, stop by to say HI!!!
FatDaddy Thanks this. -
Well yeah, but are you SURE they are closed? They just might have the closed signs posted to fool drivers who are not willing to go shake their doors!
RedForeman and TruckDuo Thank this. -
Actually... later I thought maybe I should have tried to go in and park there... but now I can't remember if there was blockage at the entrance.... I just remember a lot of signs saying they were closed...
But I would not try to park at a deserted truck stop in a dark area... no, no, no... not me...
Big Don Thanks this. -
Now checked for more info on that truck stop and found this... "Truck stop in Claysville Shuts its doors".
I stopped in front of it and saw the signs... don't remember seeing the Huddle House sign, but I saw the one saying "No truck turnaround" and didn't see one vehicle in there... so, I didn't try to get in there with the big truck...
RedForeman and TruckDuo Thank this.
