Parked Here for the Night

Drove about 10:30 hrs today and that put me right where I wanted... A nice and big FJ in MO a few miles from Walmart. Doing my 34 reset till Monday morning... will go to Walmart for shopping tomorrow and will deliver on Monday afternoon in TN...

 

Speaking of technology breaking down, broke down in Farmington, New Mexico. Truck keeps threatening to derate to 5 mph due to SCR performance being low. Fortunate for me I have family here so no motel bills

 

Except for the new volvos, none of our trucks have fender mirrors.

 

Very fortunate indeed...
Problems with emissions huh? Hope you get that fixed soon and keep on rolling...

I almost didn't come this way. At the last minute ditched the original route through Gallup to taking 550 up.

 

Yeah... I "hear" some drivers say they don't need them.... For me, the more the better... when I drove Columbias, I installed one extra mirror next to the fender mirror on the passenger side... But it seems that every year trucks come with less and smaller mirrors... Maybe in the future there will be no mirrors... only cameras outside and a monitor inside showing several different angles...

 

I do miss having one but I've learned to adjust.

 

Yeah... adjust... When I chose the co. I am with now, I did so mostly because of their trucks... They had the exact truck that I wanted... I didn't want to adjust to anything different... At least for now...

 

Hey! That US 550... I almost took that road when I went to UT... but was concerned about the curves... So, I took US 491 instead... it was a little more miles but a little more straight. Tell me, is that US 550 a good route for trucks? I know it's a truck route but wondering about sharp curves and ups and downs... I think I never been there before...
