the poker houses don't mind. They make money no matter what. They take a percentage called "rake" out of every hand. Anywhere from $1-$4 depending on the size of the pot.

Hanging out in Horse Cave Ky for a few. Gonna roll out not 0400, kick this one off in Cullman, then prolly a short round. Leaving out Thursday for Gulf Shores. Gonna check out the Shrimp Festival. I see lots of cerveza and seafood in the near future. Got some things I have to do to the truck, so gonna leave the lil Pete at the shop for a bit of TLC. Keep the shiny side up and have a good un!

Despite this turning into hauling heavy crap thru the mountains week, it's not bad money wise. Had a load from not-the-usual shipper going to the Truck Driving School for the Blind (Aldi) in Saxonburg, PA. Scaled on the way out of GA at 79160 with 1/4 fuel, straight up I-77/US-19/I-79.

After the 4 wake up knocks needed (beginning at 0230) every 90 minutes to get unloaded, they were finally done. I decided to be productive and posted my truck early and was pleased to have my phone blow up right away. Haggled over a load going to Ocala, FL for a good rate and found out where cheese comes from around west PA. Scaled on the way out of PA with 1/2 tank fuel at 78,500. OK, so no uphill racing on the way back south.

Then it got dark. The whole way down US-19 it was a thunderstorm. 52 freaking degrees and 70 miles of downpour and lightning. At night of course. Made it into Wytheville, VA somehow the same day for some not valet parking. I hate spending the money here and there, but pulling straight into that reserved spot after some really sucky driving conditions makes for a happy ending. Almost. ;)
