Probably not. They do have a special place in my heart still. A few months ago I arrived at a shipper just south of Macon to pick up a load on my dropped trailer. It was gone. A little research by the shipper found Werner picked it up and left about a half hour before I got there.
After some dilly-dally about tracking it down, Werner finally decided to turn the driver around instead of letting him get arrested at the NB Ringgold, GA. scale had I made the call to the state patrol to report it stolen. He had gotten about 100 miles away and got the pleasure of Atlanta traffic X2 instead of a felony stop.
When I met the driver I was glad it played out in a positive way. He was cool about it and had only taken the trailer under protest. He said had pushed back several times, knowing it was not one of theirs, but dispatch insisted. The way he acted and related the story, I don't believe he was lying. Oh well. Nice guy and glad he didn't have to bond out of jail on account of his stupid dispatcher. No harm to me other than a tiny bit of tire wear and a trip that went a lot later than it should have. I think the security team at the shipper got a little butt chewing too. Not unusual for carriers to haul each other's trailers, but this one was definitely not a match had they checked in with shipping. -
My week long vacation ended thismorning.
oh well , out and about in ohio. Sitting at my most dreaded places , a walmart DC. Lmao
Oh well , I took my TQA test , soooo hopefully next week I can start the training.
So far I am likening the people . I received three phone calls today asking how I was doing , and for my back haul info..
welp gotta roll , I need to get load info from the broker. ...Rocks Thanks this. -
What was supposed to be a quick turn and burn to South Carolina and back to El Paso hasn't quite worked out that way. Was booked a load to Connecticut and when I reminded dispatch that I needed to be home BEFORE Saturday, they set up a relay and I've been sitting at the TA in Greensboro, NC waiting for the other driver. The load he's bringing me only goes as far as Dallas. Then I reload AGAIN and hopefully be home Friday afternoon so I can leave on the 6.5 hour drive from El Paso to Bloomfield, NM.

Well I know Ohio state troopers aren't on any trucker's list of favorites but I have to give them a shout out today.
Was driving through Dayton, traffic was moderate, I'm riding the middle lane as traffic is merging on the freeway, lady comes up on my right, I see her playing on the phone and with no blinker proceeds to come right on over nearly taking my front bumper with her. I give a little toot on the air horn.....she's oblivious. Well the vehicle that was right behind her in the right lane was a state trooper. He gives me a wave as he passes, gets in front of me, turns the discos on and pulls her over.
Made my dayRocks, tsavory, tangerineGT and 1 other person Thank this.
