See, you're looking at this the wrong way. It's an opportunity to throw the 4-ways on and block the road a while. Make some 4 wheelers late getting somewhere for a change. They needed to stop and do some texting anyway.

Nice job, nonetheless. Makes me think about a similar spot I've been a couple times. Pilgrim's Pride raw docks in Sumter, SC. Only had the misfortune once, but door 5, might be 6?, is separate from the rest in sort of a little garage space with concrete columns, no lights, and you have to angle in to hit the door, tractor at an angle with trailer straight. And, while you're at it, try not to run all over the curbs surrounding the gut dumpster right in front of it. Good times!

Nice, a container backed into my mirror and took off. Luckily Volvo mirrors are designed to fold in.

At my first stop and these pallets aren't doing anyone any favors. Even the day cab drivers are having problems.

So... was unloaded at 6:30 today... And still had to slide my tandems all the way back so that rear tires could go up on the ramps and lift trailer... And after opening trailer doors, tied that up really tight with trailer so not to rub against the yellow metal columns...

And this was the "receiving hole"....:biggrin_25523:

    And the room in front...

I know.... I know... you, experienced truck drivers here may be thinking... Ooh... com'on... that is not THAT hard... :biggrin_25512:

But for me.... I am not a good backer...:biggrin_25512: it was a freaking PAIN... specially doing it at night in the dark... :biggrin_2552:

Moving foot by foot and going out to check it with a flash light every time.... :biggrin_2552:

Thank GOD I was able to leave that place without any scratch or any damage... :biggrin_25519:

And now I am at a very small independent fuel station... on a dirt lot... I am the only truck here...

Waiting on my next load assignment...

Sat for nearly three hours in that dock, then moved to another one because another load was placed in front of my dock.

I won't have to worry about parking at the truckstop, I'm going to be late for the second drop. Be careful what you wish for! :)

Thank you... Oh man... I can only imagine the nightmare your dock was... dark, inside building, concrete columns... :biggrin_2552: and trailer straight and truck at an angle...?! :biggrin_25521: Oh no... that would kill me... I don't have much any experience with that "tractor at an angle..." :biggrin_25513: Only time I had one of those, it took me HRS AND HRS... and I got first degree frost bite on almost all my fingers in right hand.... breaking ice and shoveling snow at night to make a little more room for truck to back...

    Here is where it was...

Arrow shows the pile of ice that I had to break and shovel so to get a little more room... and not to say that ground was covered with slick layer of ice... What a FREAKING place... :biggrin_25510:

And after loaded there, they wanted me to go to next dock for the rest of the loading... I said, NO FREAKING WAY!
They found a way to bring the rest of the load to that same dock and finish loading...
