Picked up in Romulus, MI then heading to Elk Grove, IL then back to Romulus then back home to Chi-Town for six days. March will be our one year of trucking. The time went fast. Have interviews set up with R&L Carriers and Saia LTL Freight. Trying to get one with Quality Carriers set up too.

We haul a few loads a year from El Paso to Canada. I'm one of the few drivers on the fleet that has a valid passport so since they knew I would be back to work Saturday they got one and dispatched me on it. :)

I use to go into Canada before they started the pass port deal. When me and the X was going through a divorce she thought she would get alimony if she all of a sudden became an abused spouse. So I got a phony Domestic violence charge, and she still didn't get alimony. Not sure if I can go through their now. Even If I did get a pass port. I know I had to relay a few loads from guys who owed child support who couldn't get through. Don't miss it much especially after going up there and using my wifi not knowing it charged almost double. I nearly had a heart attack when I seen the bill.

Curious, what comes out of El Paso all the way to Richmond? Tip, might be better now, but years back Vancouver + surrounding areas were about as truck friendly as Yellowknife NWT. I.E. nada for truck stops, wide open places to park a rig, etc. If you research it (which I'm sure you will) and find it to be the same, if I was you I'd spend the last night before the border, at a decent place, come up and do your drop, and get back within your alloted time.
Of course there are lots of drivers on the forum who run out there all the time, and will probably correct me, I'm just relaying my experience from, uh, well, I guess almost 30 years ago, lol. Sure could've used a smart phone and a gps back then, instead of a road map open on the passengers seat.

90 miles from Colorado Springs, and this wind is blowing like nobody's business. I can't believe how much trouble I had with a fully loaded box. 78,720 gross weight. Pulled in to some mom and pop. There was a mail hauler who I know wasn't as heavy as me and she kept going. I wouldn't be surprised if Her truck is turned over up the road when I do get rolling. Not suppose to pick up next load until tomorrow anyway, but there's no way I would be trying to pull an empty trailer in this crap. It said wind advisory. It should be a wind warning this is not good.
