Parked at the Peelot in Big Spring, TX, waiting for my friend Ray, one of our local drivers, to bring me an Easton, PA bound load. Will miss Christmas but will get holiday pay and more time in my new baby.
It's a regular customer and I understand there is a load scheduled to come back. Will have to reset on the road but if I'm lucky, I'll do it at the AC&T in Hagerstown, MD.
Will have to make my way the old fashioned way, still no PrePass or Teletracs GPS navigation system.
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
I clocked 150000 miles this year
with another round before the end of the year -
Dang it boy you don't play around either I see

I never use the GPS to get me to this place in Easton. It has me go up skinny ### roads through town from US22 when it's much easier to go up PA33 and then down and over.

Begun to notice my SNI gps does the same. SNI saved a whole 30 miles by sending me through hills, 2-lanes and tight curves but it cost me an hour of drive time overall. I appreciate the experience but if I want tight, curvy, and going longer...I'd just assume go home.

Not to mention the city of Easton has been doing roadwork in that area for the last 50 years with no end in sight and following the GPS comes to an intersection with the road the customer is on that is right turn prohibited for trucks and the next right to get the place is perpetually blocked due to roadwork. You have to find some place to turn around and then come in and make that left turn. Took me a half hour once to get to them after passing that blocked road.
Then the road on the other end is restricted to trucks. Subsequently the only other way to.get to them is come in through the middle. -
It helps to have a faster truck.... and paper logs... doesn't it?
Hey, and you still have time to be "crankying" around here, huh?

Yesterday I lost count of how many sheriff cars and state patrol cars I saw in OK... they were out there in FULL force...

Today as well. I came up 75/69 out of Dallas. All over the place.Rocks Thanks this.
