Rocks, from the picture it looks like you're at the Dixie truck stop in McLean, il. I55 x 145.

Interesting thing is that it's the oldest truck stop in America. My wife and I think they have a great buffet.

I remember finally discovering that place a few months ago. Which was weird cause of all the times I had went through there in the past. Plenty of parking. Only complaint I have is the restaurant isn't 24 hours.

Funny you mention that. We were there Wednesday morning for breakfast but we were too early, they weren't open yet. We wish they would pave that parking lot. Sometimes I feel like I'm going off roading there lol

Didn't plan on all the weekend/holiday warriors to tie up I 24 so cut my landing into norcross short by 30 minutes or so. So pulled on in to the double arches/pilot just south of Dalton for an 8 hr layover. Then shall resume flight plan shortly thereafter. Man this pilot is dead. The 4 wheelers seem to out number the trucks.

Pick up my reload back to Colorado down the road in Calhoun. Just got to figure out where to take a 34. Rockin single digit hours on the recap is not kosher. We back quiet~~~

Got a taste of the same thing on the first 20 miles of I-77 from I-81 headed South. Stop-n-go for nothing. It was also thick on I-81 and fortunately nobody crashed so it was moving pretty good despite the heavy traffic. I told my wife that if she ever heard me say anything about buying a camper, just shoot me dead right there. Friends don't let friends ever buy an RV.

Kinda doing the same as you on the other corner of the state. Strict 10 hour break then move to deliver 30 minutes away in Braselton at 0700. Looks like you're getting an o-dark-30 start for Norcross, so will probably miss you. I'll PM a phone number in case I can offer any local misinformation. We park our trucks in Norcross, but i probably won't get down there till noonish with my luck. Then need to dash to the house to deposit checks and swap my clothes bag out to keep catching these holiday loads while they last.

Had a rapid change of plans. Was supposed to run Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi this week. My broker called bout am hour ago and said is your trailer clean, can you load sand now and be in Kilgore Texas by daylight?

Of course I can but I had my heart set on hauling by products this week not sand I'm not sure. What's that's they are out of Frac Sand in Kilgore. (Seeing dollar signs) Ya I guess I could leave now but it gonna cost you. I love it when they just let me think I'm holding a ace in the hole. Makes me feel good lol

Sitting at Wal Mart in some town called Poteau, Ok which is about 25 miles from my destination in Fort Smith Ar. Was told it was ok to park overnight and so far I'm the only truck here. Nice and quiet.

First time I ran US 259 north from the Texas state line to where it ends in Oklahoma. That's not a trip I want to repeat anytime soon at 79K gross. My GPS was on a continuous loop of saying "winding road ahead".
