I also believe we should have a talk with Miss Rocks about flaunting her Brazilian bikini cut body and long hair Around. There's some angry heavy weight crew cut chicks in my pm as I speak. I also hope you didn't find the part about me being America's Next Top forum staff associate funny. I'll be forced to pm you and lay down the law if you don't behave.
Rule 1 no talking about your Brazilian accent
Rule 2 no talking about your long hair.
That type of stuff can cause havoc on America's highway. You know how hard it for us to erase that from my I mean these yahoo's mines.
I have a forum to patrol. Now ya'll parked for the night cats behave. Don't let me come back In here. I gota go cry in my pillow. I mean patrol the forum! GrrRocks Thanks this. -
The ever going air system going off has parked next to me...fix your crap people!!!......and they whine about my reefer

Great timing ! Just got home last night from finishing our first week out.
Our week started off hectic because our truck didn't arrive at the terminal until Monday morning. We went there to load up our stuff and the truck wouldn't start. They had to end up towing it into the shop and finally got it going. It's a 2013 ProStar with a 10 speed, most of their team trucks are automatic so that was a nice surprise. We mainly pull 53' trailers but there are some 48' trailers and doubles mixed in at random.
We pick up anywhere from 2-5am in Chicago and we're supposed to go down to the Pilot in Murfreesboro to switch with the other driver. I'm sure many of you know just how small and cramped that place can be so R+L has a terminal 25 miles north in Nashville that we have been switching at. Unfortunately our truck is pretty heavy so we always have to watch how much fuel we put in because if we fill up the steers are almost always over 12k. The great majority of our loads are hazmat as well.
R+L doesn't do any orientation (at least not at Chicago) and no training, they just give you the keys and send you on your way. So our first week was spent learning as we went. By the end of it we felt like we were getting the hang of it.
The best part about working here is that our truck can go 75mph. We are on I-65 for the most part which is heavily traveled by trucks and it's nice to be able to pass others easily and not hold up traffic as much as we did with a 65mph truck.
We were expecting the 2015 ProStar which has all the bells and whistles like sleep number bed, fridge, Bose seats, etc. But our truck does have an APU and doesn't seem to have any idle shutoff either so both of those are pluses. We figure in another 6 months or so they'll upgrade us to a new truck anyway.
We're just excited that the truck has the side windows by the bed in the sleeper because our pups love to look out the window. The doxie could spend all day sitting there, but good luck getting her to move when you want to lay down
Payday is next Friday and then we'll know if all of this is worth it. -
I'm so happy that the trailer wash will be open in the am and I can washout and get the hell out of Mt Vernon. Got a lesson in fuel millage a while ago at the subway. I'm an idiot was my take on it all the cash I'm pudding away because of my fuel millage. Sorry but I just don't think I could make a truck payment and repair bills on the 2 mpg I will save. Couldn't make the guy understand I would get better than I do dragging an empty dry van around. Load your 8 mpg. Cummins like a freight train pulling a parachute and see where your fuel goes. He couldn't imagine my net being 55 plus with a cow trailer. Oh I got new neighbors they done some moving around while I was inside watching the feet ball game

Sleep number bed no kiddin? Is that just a mattress option? I never tried one but the bone cruncher I see swears it will help. It would be sweeter if I could have one in the truck
TruckDuo Thanks this. -
Love your humor...
Now... wait a minute... I never wrote anything about my long hair...But it seems that caused quite some impression on Cranky...
And I never wrote about my "bikini cut body"...Bikini cut body...??
nah... Not really...
The heavy weight crew cut chicks may relax... I look more like a bag of skinny bones than a "Girl from Ipanema"....
Actually, I have been trying to keep a "low profile" here... like you "say"... back in quiet... -
Yeah all the newer trucks R&L has comes with the Sleep Number bed and it has a plug in so it will operate and you can change the setting anytime. I'm assuming you could tell them you'd rather have a regular mattress but who would want to right ? lol We've always wanted to try a Sleep Number. -
Hey TruckDuo, that's great! Glad to know you guys are doing well in your new co. and enjoying it...
75 mph... and an APU... That's quite an improvement, huh?
Hey, as you guys learn the co's system and get more experience with the co. you will be able to evaluate this new job and the pay... Give it some time... After a few months you will have a better idea... Wishing you all the best.
Dinomite Thanks this. -
Rocks Thanks this.
