i got a whole trunk of hand tools from both my grandfathers
most were old when they got them
my cousin now has the family homestead
last time we were standing in the barn together we ended up sobbing holding each other
remembering all the generations that have been on that lil corner of Newbury Mass since 1653
the back wall of the barn is still original from 1710
    a lot of ghosts :biggrin_25511:

These Ohio back roads suck as it is clean and clear so rolling at a clip then around the corner bam snow packed snd icy.
Had sharp left at the top of a long narrow steep hill with a stop sign never good when you release clutch and truck goes backwards instead of forward or you pull breaks and truck starts sliding so no tossing anything to help out

    Rocks and TruckDuo Thank this.

My Grandad told me once "Son we came here in '18, give 2 dollars and a half an acre for this rock pile. We had no idea how we would ever pay for it. Almost lost it but prohibition came and that saved us."

My family got 96 acres in southern Colorado during the Grant Administration when they were giving land away if you farmed it.
