Are you at the big one? The Vince Lombardi? The only decent sized truckstop in NYC.

What....a......day. Got a whole lotta nothin accomplished today. Truck was ready to go when I got to her this morning.....when I got my first bit of bad news...they replaced my QC with Peoplenet. I instantly decided I HATE PEOPLENET....and after a day getting used to it....I STILL HATE PEOPLENET!! I think I'm gonna get my own authority just so I can run paper. Lol

so bad news #2.....somebody snagged my empty while my girl was in the shop. Now empties are up for grabs but they are SUPPOSED to be off limits if said empty is assigned to a driver under dispatch...which I was....no matter...she was gone. So they tell me we got plenty of empties in Cranbury. So off I go...only 13 miles....but the wrong way...no matter they pay me...well...no empties.

So I'm put in a holding pattern...one hour...two hours...now I'm getting to the point I'm gonna miss my pick up window...pickup window passes....they pull the load...I tell them to find me something off the yard....I don't care if it delivers next door...I will take it so I can have an empty and start finding loads and making money.

Wait...we found you an empty....but it's in White Plains NY...and guess what time it is....yep 1600. Now obviously I don't want to deal with the GWB at this hour but if I wait till morning and go what if there really isn't any empties...then what? I may lose ANOTHER day....so off I go and by miracle of miracles it ain't all that bad going in....which leads me to

bad news #3......2 empties!!!! AND THEY ARE BURIED TO THE TOP OF THE TIRES IN SNOW!! Ain't know way they are moving till spring. So now I'm beyond frustrated and tell 2nd shift to get rid of the new pp I put on after thinking I was gonnaa get an empty and find me something off the yard. Which they did....delivering 7 miles away tomorrow but then I'm off to Cincy from there. Sigh.

  7. Well L.A load was dropped without a hitch. Took off for Ontario, "ya. I know I could of chosen better"
At 10am local time, the lot is full minus 12 spots. I was told that anyone last night fueling was to leave, no spots open.

Decided to have a clutch cable swapped out. Old /new. Old one the adjustment nuts were not moving at all.

So. Grabbed a new one. (Don't ask. Its Peterbilt, you get the idea)

Well. I'm sitting in Ontario waiting with the other 126 trucks looking for loads.

Decided "hey. They could change a cable with a cotter pin,two lock bolts and another pin."

Took rookie mechanic 6 hours to remove old, install new and try adjusting new cable.

Needless to say I'm still here and not happy. Truck limped out of bay, crawled across parking lot.
Another hopeful mechanic is meeting me in a.m. to fix the cable adjustment for my clutch.
    Correctly!!! I hope

And down for the duration in Avondale.

Fuel pump is starting to go out so fuel pressure is low.

Cummins has a service bulletin out. With parts available in April Maybe......

Pump assemblies are being rationed by Cummins Corporate. At least one week perhaps 2 of politics to get one.

Off to check airline ticket prices......... Just in case.
