Parked Here for the Night

Parked for the night at my customer. Have an 0530 appt. Looks like me and a flatbed have the place to ourselves. Forgot to buy a coffee pot in Walmart today which is the only drawback to sleeping at the receiver.

 

You know one day when I'm feeling adventurous I'm gonna have to try it....definitely looks shorter but I'm with PackRat. I'm not a fan of PA back roads. I'll save it for a bright sunny day when the temps are in the 70s and I have less than 10k in the box.

 

I called today as a formality just to say I wouldn't be able to make the 7am time that was set originally. Luckily I got the real dispatcher this time and was told that 7am was meant only for the driver to know when to start their run to stay on time.

7/17 stops finished, could've made my 8th stop but I did not want to risk my 14 running out. Looking forward to the weekend some; going to go see my dad and play doctor/nurse/orderly/caretaker while he's recovering from surgery. ...at the same time, Ive already been warned they are out of firewood. Oh dear...

Ive seen some of the pa backroads in my pv, so I know what you mean. ...took my trailer full of tires on lots of Alabama "back roads" today. ...Alabama isn't very semi-friendly once you're off the interstate it seems.

Parked at another Walmart, this time in demopolis, al. This young man is bedding down for the night after a quick hunt through the Walmart. Half a trailer full of tires stacked to the ceiling unloaded by hand. A good day's work.

Loves in Tucumcari, NM ....Got awoken from my slumber last evening by night dispatch asking for a "favor" (these never work out by the way). Next thing I know I up and rolling at 5am towards Liberal, KS to pick up a load of dead cow. Get there , trailers ready..good.....hook up to it and start sliding tandems .....all the way forward (Cali load) and the suspension gauge says heavy....nearest working scale 40 miles .....off I go. Anyways...34800 on the drives ...back to Liberal we go...many hours later and this is as far as my 14 would take me. Going be a fun crawl out of Needles, Ca. grossing 79800 with a weak truck..axles are legal...barely.

 

Parked in Sturtevant, Wi on the street outside of the reciever. its cold as heck here tonight. I have a 4am appointment. Then I have a 1300 reload up in Greenbay.
Headed right back towards Concord NC...
They should rename the mountians in WV after me.... I am starting to wear a trail through there....

No sense of adventure. Try US 250 out of Wheeling Wv going toward 79. Made me want to find whatever idiot declared it a truck route and give em a beat down! Anywho, lil rest area here on I 30 easterly bound. The customer in WV wants his green leafy stuff Sat. morning so just easin along. Got the air bag fixed this morning and been cruising!
