I've said it before, I'll say it again .... my Made In America GE coffee perk just turned 49 years old and still makes the best cup of coffee !

Our old stovetop percolator gave up the ghost a couple of years ago, so we purchased a small Black & Decker drip coffeemaker. It does a pretty good job, but there are times I miss the stovetop pot.

We also had a small burr grinder for a while, but it quit working after only a couple of years. Sometimes I'd run up to the roasterie, get fresh roasted beans, and when ground fresh right before brewing? It's really rich and smooth...

Unfortunately, however, I can't afford to be a coffee snob... so we just drink the ground stuff from Aldi's most of the time. It's coffee.

As for fast-food type coffee? I can't stand Starbucks. Had one cup years ago and it was the bitterest coffee I ever drank. But I love Wawa coffee...

The reason most like Starbucks and such is they were never fed dirt as a kid. Or had to sample a little as a side effect of the job.

And YES... You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT sir.... Despite of all the hassles, expenses, loss of income, back hurts, etc, etc... I am VERY FORTUNATE to be able to do this trip... Dad is sooo very anxious to see me again and at the "end", I will be very thankful I went... :biggrin_25519:
