Delivered at Pepsi in Oklahoma Citythis morning. Everything was a sheet of ice. Drove up to Tulsa to reload. then drove to Joplin Mo. At the Petro.....
had one hell of a time sliding my tandems after I got loaded. Pretty much impossible in the ice and snow. Either the trailer wheels slide or the drives just spin. I finally just left. Up the street I found a bare patch and got them slid. So aggravating.....course after I got weighted at the j I was too heavy on the tandems.had to slide it back 2'holes ... Couldn't do it at the J in Tulsa.it was so jammed packed chaos.... I just left and slid them when I stopped here. Glad the Missouri scales were closed....I would have stopped at the rest area
before the scales if they were open....
Any ol timer tricks for sliding the tandems in the snow and ice????

That J in Tulsa is awful... always busy, always full and parking spots are too tight... :biggrin_2552: I never had to do this... but once a saw a driver push and pull his trailer tires against a curb to be able to slide the tandems...

Hey... I am sooo glad I left co. terminal in OKC last week...

use a curb if you have to move them forward, just remember to roll your mud flaps up with a bungee or duct tape so you don't rip them off..

other than that just go around the scales as needed..

Now... if you need to move your tandems backwards, you would need the "right" kind of curb so that you could "pull" forward to slide the tandems and still be able to leave the place afterwards...

I have also seen a driver using a heavy block of wood and placing it in front of the trailer tires to keep them in place while he pulled forward to move the tandems backwards... not sure how that would work on icy ground though... maybe one would need to also throw some cat litter on the ground to make it less slippery... I carry a shovel just in case...

And I also have these two metallic screens that I found somewhere...

If put under the drive axle tires they prevent tires from spinning on the ice...
