In Ft. Dodge moving trucks. Its amazing how much stuff my girlfriend has managed to stuff into this truck. Went with the 579, the dash is weird. Looks like it belongs in a car, but it does have cup holders I can use. Fleet manager says the truck is supposed to be more aerodynamic and get better mileage. We'll see. I wonder how many millions PACCAR spent shaving off weight and coaxing out fuel performance.
The nitty gritty:
2014 Peterbilt 579 500HP 1850 Ft/Lbs
Cummins ISX 15L
Eaton Fuller 13 Speed
Dana Spicer Steer and Drive Axles. 3.36 Ratio
Pere Flex air suspension
22.5 Low Profile Michelins on drives and steers.
80 inches of sleeper and 244 inches of wheelbase.
Dual 150g fuel tanks.Bigdubber Thanks this. -
Hmmm they shave weight off for fuel reasons , but add bigger fuel tanks to carry more weight. Lol
I looked at one , kinda want one myself , that will be a mighty comfy bed to sleep in . Lol
Enjoy your new truck
