Parking at the customer does NOT work for us because I NEED a bathroom in the morning and they do not always want you using their facilities.
In Canada, you're allowed to park on the ramps. There are VERY VERY few rest areas and truck stops in Eastern Canada. It's perfectly legal to park on the side of the highways in Canada, too.
I think some of them park on the ramps, also, because they HAVE to stop (they're beat) and it's safer than the side of the road. I know we never do that as, again, no bathroom. We always find a rest area, truck stop or gas station with parking.

Sounds like you need a portable pottie on your truck and some disinfectant wipes (or some microbial handwash) for afterwards. Go to a camping store like Cabellas and you can find small chemical toilets. An air freshener and a small portable fan mounted beside the air vent would be a good idea too.

If I have to drive late into the night, then I try and plan out where to stop (rest area, truckstop, walmart, or on/off ramp). And before I get there, I will make a quick stop at a truckstop, and use the terlet. Then, I am free to park on a ramp, if need be, and not have to worry about squatting behind a bush (in possibly freezing weather)! And of course I carry a pee bottle.
