We have two truckstops within 15 miles of home so I will park at one of them! My wife will come and pick me up. Unfortunately, she also takes me back too!

Depends on the company some companies require the truck to be left at their yard and you find a ride to home depending on were you live.

I used to park the truck in my driveway.. Guess I was one of the lucky ones who could do this.. I have a buddy who parks his at a local store.. He asked them and they said it was fine. 2 other local drivers do the same...

perhaps a silly question... When you have home time, where do you park your Truck ?? .. assuming you can't or don't have room to park at home.

Last company had there terminal (yard) close. So I would drive back and forth.
My company before that was a National Carrier. So they did not have anywhere close for me to park.
I got permission then to park at a concrete plant I use to work at.
I am getting ready to start at a new company now, and will have to check for places to park again. There is a small lot a few miles from my house that I know at least 4-5 OTR trucks park at when home. So I am going to ask the owner there what his rules are and if I can park there. Hopefully it is free.
I cannot park at the house because no Commercial Trucks are allowed to park in town.

    anuuub Thanks this.

You will find that not many people will answer this question. The reason why is because the driver is ultimately responsible for their cargo. The economy is in a slump & cargo theft is at a all time high... How do they know that your not a cargo theif fishing for new victims?

That is why you answer with a general answer, and not location.

lol.. I guess you don't know for sure.. however, i think the question can be answered well enough so that it does not give away too much..

I am new to the business and considering a job where i have to think about where I will park when home..

seems like a legitimately fair question to me but i get it

I'm lucky enough to have a truck stop 1/8 mile from me and i'll park my truck here at the house. So for me it's easy.. I don't know about any other places to park.

I have a friend who leaves his truck at Loves when he comes home. I'd say walmart but I think they cut out the Motorhome and Truck Parking.
