Hello guys I’m currently at home taking my Christmas holidays off. I was call out to the truckstop bc my truck was parked in a no parking zone so they called the police & a DOT officer came out. He called my company & my company called me so they didn’t tow the truck but instead waited on me to get there & he ended up doing a level 3 inspection & writing me a ticket for illegal parking. So my question is does this affect my license or future employment. Also this was private property & I wasn’t in the truck so does this make a difference? Thanks in advance

You accidentally put this in the experienced drivers section, some of those types are going to be a bit blunt with you I think. I'm too nice, so won't say what my thoughts are.Another Canadian driver, buddyd157 and Lonesome Thank this.

Most will tell you that you deserve a ticket if you're parked in no parking zone and lucky it wasn't towed.
Not sure of the legality of receiving a parking ticket on private property or an inspection on a unattended rig on private property.
My advice would be to contact a local attorney with experience in that area.
Good idea to let the manager know how to get ahold of you inthe future.Another Canadian driver, buddyd157 and Lonesome Thank this. -
I would have said “I’m just here to move the truck”

You DESERVE that parking ticket. Pay it and move on. Seems your reading skills level are not there if you can’t read;

If the property owner gives the okay for them to be there, it's a valid inspection. If one did need to argue on the validity, I would think arguing that the truck nor the driver were in service at the time of the inspection would be a more fruitful endeavor.
Guys who post these kinds of questions need to include the violation code, or any answers given are largely wild ### guesses. My WAG would be that the legality of parking ticket will vary greatly across the multitude of various jurisdictions.2Tap, Another Canadian driver, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this. -
Possibly parked along the curb in a fire lane?

You got lucky, I would have towed the truck and trailer if I was the manager of the truck stop unless I give you permission to park there.
Worst ticket that you can get is a parking ticket, it is worse than a reckless driving ticket.
Seriously parking tickets are pay and forget about tickets.
NOT a bit of difference, there is what is called public access, and there is no private property involved in this or any other parking issue. I wish people would cite cases that prove that wrong but no one has here or on other forums, they just make these claims.
Besides the cops were called, so they have the right to inspect you.Another Canadian driver, bryan21384, buddyd157 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've always wanted to ask this. How do you guys who park like this, and then just go home without a care in the world, knowing you parked in a "No Parking Zone".
