Why do you even care what I think?
If a state wants to allow driverless vehicles then that is their right. But for a driverless vehicle to cross state lines is a Federal matter.
Our Federal Government is saying it, not me.
I just happen to agree and you are fixated on me because I will say my beliefs where your Congressman will just send you a form letter.

No company anymore hires noobs without experience. These training companies you reference no longer exist.
-
I dont have membership with ooida cause Im a yard jockey now. There is no benefit to me.
-
Im not sure I understand your post. I didnt reference any companies in my post. Only that megas dont train enough. Mega's dont have schools that train their new hires anymore? ( @Chinatown can you advise? )Bean Jr. Thanks this.

This forum is full of the same.......just sayin.

and you see, many years ago, when OOIDA was "formed", they were for the independant o/o, not a company driver.
then i still signed up, (just basically lying on the sign up form, that i was an o/o)....as i hate exclusions. reminds me of private country clubs, where one must be of a "certain stature and wealth to join", and trust me OOIDA, never confirmed whether or not i was an o/o or company driver.
like warehouse clubs, in order to shop at one, and buy a 55 gallon drum of mayonnaise, one must be a member, which i was a member at a warehouse club for a number of years, but i dropped that, as i have no real need for that much mayo, or 27,000 eggs.
along came a change with OOIDA, and they seemed to have opened the doors to company drivers as well, i think if only to bolster thier membership numbers.
it may have been great in concept, and in the beginning, but as myself a company driver, i have no need for the advertisers. only a couple of times, did i contact thier magazine attorneys for some information, and as long as one is a member, they respond.
if anyone is happy with OOIDA, good for you, i am happy for you, i really am.
but i "feel" and have "'felt" a shift in what they are doing or have done, over the years, but i cannot recall specifics right now, as i have enough trouble trying to remember my own darned name. -
Not really. They teach enough to get a cdl. Then they throw them with a "trainer" that is nothing more than a team operation.Bean Jr. and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Winner.

I thought he was being sarcastic. 72 years old average?

Can't run from Jersey to New York, although from where my warehouse was, it was only a 5 mile trip. I am 100% in favor of allowing 18 year olds to drive interstate.
