And by bailing out I mean just saying "F this" it's all on you, or just bailing on the whole thing and finding some other guy because they think the grass is greener .

Yes, I've heard a lot of people warning about partnership, and I agree and have seen in my family too. But, with this partnership we have goals and so far so good. One thing that helps is having trust between us and we came along way.

And when it comes to bailing out, If I married my hubby when he was in the negatives, I promise you am not going anywhere God willing lol! I appreciate your input though.

You can pick any country across the entire United States to work for no problem. You may have to drive out there or fly out there for orientation but you can work for any carrier on any Coast anywhere within the United States.

You can find a company that's on the other side of the country that pays you outstandingly well.

If it were me I would try to find a place that has many many sales people tracking down direct Freight and that they have plenty of Team direct Freight that they can keep you working constantly.

Don't be afraid of putting five or six company side-by-side and comparing.

Just briefly make sure you catch what each one is going to pay for. Some may pay for your EZ Pass or do your IFTA taxes, some may charge you for an Eld, if you are renting a trailer from them compare the costs and the maintenance cost and what happens if you get flat tires or any problems with the trailer itself, do they keep an escrow, what happens if you break the lease, what happens if they don't give you the freight they promise you, what is the detention time or layover time or anything else that they offer, do they have different agents you can work with if you don't hit it off with one, what are all of the exact add-on fees and Extras that you have to pay including & Beyond your insurance, is there a penalty if you break your lease early, is there a fee for Comcheck, is there an escrow account and what exactly can that be used for and how do you get it back when you leave, and a whole bunch of other things you need to sit down and anticipate before they happen.

Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions because a good company will answer every single solitary last one of them. Some of them may have bigger discounts on tires or repairs or fuel or whatever... You've got a lot of homework to sit down and figure out what to ask.

But call a bunch of companies. There's a company out there that's going to have everything you need and that is fair and that takes care of their owner operators.
