TRUCK STARTED AND SCR CODE HAS GONE AWAY!!!!!!! I know it's going bad but I've got a flatbed full of onions on right now!

If it fails on you and the gauge goes to empty don’t shut your truck off. At least that’s what I was told by the dealer when I called with mine. And I drove about 3 hours or so and it didn’t derate.

My buddy had 2 trucks down fit this. One got a new sensor earlier this week and the other got the programming to bypass the def sensor yesterday. So both are back on the road.

What about volvo's. Has anybody heard anything on their end. Are they going down like the rest?77fib77 and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
Didn’t read the thread
Was looking for a previous one I followed but today I was told that my previous order for a def sensor was canceled
They said I need to be on a hook or in a shop to get one or an override programLast edited: Oct 12, 2021

I just had a 2nd one put in my 2019 International last week. Lights came on, took it to the dealer. Luckily, they had one in stock. They said they cant keep them. Takes 6+ weeks to get them.
Had they not had one, they were going to do the software fix & get me on my way. As I understood what they said, it just ignores the quality sensors (& some others) & it does leave your DEF tank level gauge on empty.
They did not indicate that there was a specific time frame for the software to stay active. As I understood it, you could leave it that way forever. It just disables some sensors including the gauge. No harm doing it. They said they would change the software back when the sensor got replaces.... whenever that would be. So, I'm assuming, it'd just be "one of these days" when I happen to come in & they had one in stock. Otherwise, I guess when a random truck came in & they have one in stock, like I did, they'd replace it & anyone who had the software fix already in place, would just stay that way until the manufacturer went back to work & the sensors were plentiful.
Now, to be clear, he didn't say that word for word... I'm just saying that's what I got from him in a round about conversation.GYPSY65 Thanks this.
