I finished school and passed my d.o.t. test today. class A licence. I'm living in the state of Washington, west side of state. my goal is to pull flatbed otr. for now i need to stay fairly local. I have 2 opportunitys. 1-driving log truck. 2-driving dump truck (generally with trailer). theres probably more opportunitys, I'm sure there is, haven't been looking that long. I need experience, obviously. I want to set myself up for a flatbed job. what should I do? any and all advice is appreciated.

Driving a logging truck will give some good experience, on road and off. Some of the best all-around drivers I know are log truck drivers.

Dirt and log haulers always seem to be in a big hurry. I hope you are ready for that fast paced gig. After a few speeding tickets and equipment issues.Your cdl can be useless real quick.
