These faster trucks are no problem as nobody is trying to pass them. I'm pretty much talking about the ones that holds traffic up. I can only go 65 and if I stay in the center lane, you get all kinds of dirty looks. :biggrin_25510: Of course you have ramps with heavy traffic getting on and center lane is the only choice. The one that has ten trucks behind them and the one in front is going the same speed as the one in the right lane. It's all about flow and whether you're causing problems or not.

I try to get out of the way and let them pass on the left. Courtesy!! Never hurt anyone!

I dont think driving in the center or 3rd lane is lazy unless you are intentionally holding up traffic. For the most part I will ride the right lane but come city time or lots of on ramps it just dosen't make sense to hang in the right lane. So what if someone passes you on the right. Here's a question for you. If someone is coming up and passing you on the right, assuming there is only one lane to your right, where exactly is your blind spot?

I drive a 65'er and try to stay out of everyones way by staying right, but the one thing that gets me is you get to passing someone else whos also a 65er and they dont let you by even though you got em, then they speed back up to 65 and sit there on your right. It annoys the crap out of me, I have you already you were going 62 and I am passing why do you need to speed up to keep me locked there.

Another thing if we are climbing a hill and im passing you and im empty and your loaded, why must you use that weight going down the other side to pass me again, especially when your speeding to do so. Just retarded...

When i travel the 401 near toronto or any part of the qew i always stay in the center lane unless traffic is extremely light. Because that highway has a lot of ###### up junctions without much notice, by the time theres a sign that the right lanes are splitting off, its too late unless its late at night.

So because you passed someone going up a hill, they should just automatically stay behind you from then on?

I drive a 60 mph truck. And I stay in the right lane, EXCEPT in cities. To many places the right lane isn't a lane at all, just a long long off ramp.
Case in point, I90 west out of Chitcago. Miles and niles it's three lanes, then presto, pass a toll booth and suddenly the right lane is an off ramp! Nope, been bitten by that bit of moronic highway planning to many times!
Get bent at me all you want for going 60 in the 55 and you want to run 70, move over to the hammer lane and blow right by. I'm not willing to get tangled up with someone or cause real snarl trying to get someone to let me over before it's to late.

It's called running hills, some truckers me included do this when running heavy (84-88k) so as to make it up the next hill easier. But, of course, I wouldn't let the side by side hill to hill go on very long. I would get tired of looking at you pretty quick. LOL :biggrin_2559:

Plain as day the law states, slower traffic keep right, left lane is for passing and over taking slower traffic. :biggrin_25525:
