yea,but after being awake all night that blast of high beams in my mirror piss me off! Especially these new trucks with insane bright lights anyway.

And all of this, of course, is just venting. There no way any driver knows which truck is "yours."
-
Ya. It may have been me. Maybe some day I'll notice a difference.
-
Who me?....lol!

I guess I don't get how I'd do anything with my parking brakes while driving down the road? Maybe I don't get it because a driver pushing the parking brake button in is still in the yard or parked somewhere.
Number ONE may not be done as easily as you think, especially when we push in the yellow brake button and our headlights come on automatically. Now, if you want to, I will gladly pull out that brake knob, but I highly suspect the cars or trucks behind me may not appreciate the sudden stop into my trailer.
Ok, now how do YOU "blink us in"? Are your headlights on when YOU push in YOUR yellow brake knob?
-
Truly, I'm trying to get a pic of my truck in my signature, so far not working, and I needed a post to experiment with. Just something I think about every time I'm out there.
-
Make sure pic is 200x600 pixels or less.
You can upload it to your edit signature page.... -
Number 4, those turtle races.
I do my best to stay out of the pack, not to create it.
If I can't get by you quickly I'll probably be far back in your mirror.
There's no reason to run against the governor all the time and dropping a few mph for a bit isn't going to put you hours behind.Tonythetruckerdude and 77smartin Thank this. -
I make sure I turn on my auxiliary lamp switch so the driving lights flash with the high beams.

For those of you driving trucks that can't turn off the headlights without setting the parking brakes, just don't do anything. High beams are unnecessary, rude, irritating, ignorant, and unprofessional. Period. If you can't dim your lights, don't do a darn thing with your lights. We can see you back there, and know when we're clear of you. We don't NEED you to flash us over, because 99% of the time you flash before I'm comfortable with the space I'd be leaving for you if I were to move over when you flash those stupid high beams at me. I don't like an 80,000 pound truck riding my 6 any more than I like having one cut back in inches from my hood. Which brings me to my next point...why the F are you cutting in mere inches from my hood when there is NOBODY coming up behind you? If you see me change lanes into that left lane you just left, YOU DID NOT have room to SAFELY move over! It really makes me want to put my foot in it (yes, I have PLENTY of pedal remaining under my foot) and give you a shave to return the favor, but I am a professional...so I just change lanes until I have my safe distance out in front of me again, and then move back into the right lane. And if I'm passing you and put my right signal on BEFORE I am clear? Yes, I KNOW it isn't safe for me to move over. No, I don't need you to flash your #### high beams the second my back end clears your nose. I'm trying to let that 4 wheeler behind me know I'll get out of the way as soon as it is safe for me to do so, so that the 4 wheeler is less likely to squeeze through as soon as he's able and put himself in a bad spot when I DO start moving to the right. It is a signal of my INTENTIONS, nothing more, nothing less.
77smartin, Western Sky, Hammer166 and 1 other person Thank this.
