Password Required To View Thread

I have some forums on watch, and receive emails when new threads are started in them. Occasionally when I get an email that a thread has been started I click on the link in the email and the page it takes me to says "Password Required".

I don't have the politics forum on watch, so it wouldn't be from there, but I tried entering that password anyway, it didn't work. I tried looking back thru the forums I have on watch to see if I can maybe find something but the person that the email says started the thread doesn't appear to have started anything in the timeframe of the email so that didn't work.

If it matters in any way, the times it has happened there was a space of hours between when I got the email and when I tried to view the thread, it wasn't right away.

Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? I tried to search thru here and see what was up but mostly just found information about getting into the politics forum.
