Doood!
That’s like super bad.
If you didn’t get your CDL yet I’d probably just chill out for a couple years before wasting your time and money.
If you have it already you could try Schneider. I know they use to allow one crazy speeding ticket.
That’s all I got, maybe someone else can recommend something.
Good luckKarneshia Thanks this. -
Um...you'd be hard pressed to be any more completely screwed.drvrtech77, tscottme, exhausted379 and 2 others Thank this.

Well, to play devil’s advocate for a bit I’m sure there are some places where it may not be too hard to get a ticket like that.
A 55 mph two-lane that drops to 15 mph in a school zone with the sign saying in tiny letters “when children are present” that the cop chose to ignore springs to mind. It’s been a few years but I do remember seeing at least one of those in WV.drvrtech77, exhausted379, Concorde and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's enough. And, just out of curiosity, how does a person "forget" to appear on a ticket that big?
Was there a warrant issued for failure to appear and were you arrested or did you just kind of resurface into reality and decide to pay the ticket?tscottme, 88 Alpha and Deere hunter Thank this. -
I can see that, but regardless of the circumstances, it's still a 30-over ticket. The only way he could make his chances any worse would be to fail a whiz quiz.
-
There was no warrant out for my arrest & no I didn’t get arrested. I got the ticket in a completely different state from where I live. If you must know I lost my father & siblings in a car accident around that time so a speeding ticket was literally the LAST thing on my mind. Thank you!!exhausted379, Concorde and REO6205 Thank this.

It's going to depend on the carrier (really the carrier's insurance), my carriers allows Suspensions for not paying a fine, previous employers wouldn't take a suspension in the last 7 or 10 years. The 30 over ticket I think is probably going to make you radioactive for the next 3 years or so. Would be happy to be wrong.
drvrtech77, Karneshia and Concorde Thank this. -
With most company's wanting to shed drivers due to over capacity, you're in for a bad time. Even some craphole like Stevens transport probably would pass on you.
Speaking as someone who's been in many parts of the trucking world and somehow struck the lottery and got on at an LTL company in this garbage market, it might've been a blessing in disguise.
90% of new drivers wash out after the first year. If you stick it out you might get something that only works you 60 hours a week with no overtime, crap benefits, and micromanagement. That's if you can survive be starved out your first year making .40cpm and getting weeks of 500 miles.
It's bad out there right now. And it's an industry that was circling the toilet decades ago. We're fully in the sewers now.
I'm at nearly the top of the top as far as driving jobs go running for one of the premiere LTL companies. Linehaul guys with 10 years seniority are spending 2-3 days a week without work. P&D guys are getting some scraps working the dock instead of driving. If I wasn't able to hop on a plane and cover at a short staffed terminal for 1 months in a hotel I'd be at 30 hours a week.
That doesn't include all the corporate ######## of an LTL job either. There's not even the fake illusion of freedom like with OTR. Had one guy at my home terminal get canned for parking on a ramp and walking to his house which is basically 200 feet from the exit to take a ####. As a mileage linehaul guy. Meanwhile, management keeps lording over everyone talking about layoffs and striking fear in everyone. They're looking for any reason to get rid of guys.
If you ain't union, seniority don't mean anything. A guy at my place can have 20 years on a daytime linehaul bid making 140k a year and be ####ed out of the industry like that with a lie on his DAC report.
If this LTL job falls through for me I'm out.
(Also, 30mph is amateur hour. I had a rented challenger I drove cross country and hit 167mph on i-40 through West Tejas. Do better driver. Have some self respect. If you're gonna do somethin', do it right by God.)Rideandrepair, Gearjammin' Penguin and Karneshia Thank this. -
30 over? Try Western Express. They seem to have very low hiring standards. Maybe you’ll catch the recruiter and safety director half asleep when the app comes across their desk.
