Given the current CDL job market -- for a new driver, in central FL.....it's really pretty much a "no brainer"....:

Swift Transportation -- OTR -- 48 states -- hires, trains new CDL holders -- Orlando, FL

If they will hire you -- better take it; stay with them AT LEAST one year -- even longer will make you look better....to later employers.

Also: try to do some flatbed with Swift -- if you later see the opportunity to do so; experience with different types of freight will make you more valuable, than if all you have pulled are "boxes".

Swift has a terminal in Las Vegas. Maybe consider Swift and then if you decide to move, you can move to Las Vegas. Ask for refrigerated division.

    T or F:
    • Their tanker fleet is small -- & they really prefer previous experience with other freight...b4 they bring you into their tanker fleet
    • Their tanker fleet mostly runs up in the northeast
    • their tanker freight is all food-grade products...but no booze

Tanker fleet also hauls wine out of California. One Texas driver posted that's the account he's on.

Knew it was small, but remember guys starting tanker from scratch when I was there. Seems like all liked it. Never heard much complaints.

I remember them starting intermodal (he also mentioned that) way back, but thought it fell apart. However, I could swear I have seen a few here & there of late.

Not sure I would recommend something like that. Heard a lot of complaints when they test trialed, but things could have changed over the years.
