I personally like to think that one doesn't have to be limited to 7 or so years of experience to be able to sympathize with the new guys.

I had to claw for 15 years to get where I am. That was NOT without some sabotage along the way by co-workers for whatever reason, be it insecurity or whatever. Frankly, I like to think that if you do your #### job and an honest day's work, you shouldn't have to worry about such crap, and that should be more than enough to earn you the respect of your co-workers.

Sadly, some guys don't see it that way, and that will NEVER be forgotten.

I hear that from the old timers. It's usually from the same guys that walked to school in the snow with no shoes, uphill in both directions. :)

Just back it up until it sounds expensive.

Seriously don't be afraid to ask someone for assistance. Most people will help you if you are backing near their truck, out of self concern if nothing else.

I have only been harassed on the CB one time when backing. I was surprised because I was doing pretty good. I think it was just one of those as-swipes that get their jollies busting balls....
One of the best tools... Is when you finally muscle into your spot, sit in the drivers seat and watch how others set up and back it in. Helps a lot! Even when they are having problems.
Also... Get out and help someone else. We are all good at saying what shouldn't occur or what others should do... But what are you doing!?? Ever notice the guys complaining how it's so much different and worse than when they started are usually just complaining and not helping??
    But what do I know...I'm a rookie....

I had a few of those in Willington the other night at t/a. Some owner op in an old beat up ftl 120 couldn't back in sightside. Had the lane tied up for over 10 min. I go around the truck in front of me, begin to blindside in, and some lovely large car drivers start on the radio.
Took me 3 pull ups and 2 get outs to get in. Less than 5 min. Guess who helped spot me?
    CR England and Prime.
CR was behind me, and Prime was next to the spot i was backing into.
It ended with me inviting them to come play on my streets, the streets of Boston with their large southern mouth large cars.
Wouldn't you know, not one of them took me up on my offer. Hmm
Oh, and they pulled through spots instead of backing up blindside to show the dumb Werner driver how to do it. #########.
Do what you gotta do and don't hit stuff.
Just like I'm waiting for the old politicians and old banksters to die off, I'm waiting for some of these old miserable Bible thumping large car southerners do do the same. Sad day when CR England and Prime help. They got coffee for their trouble.
Then i helped a dana tanker blindside in next to my truck. He was thankful for the help.
Ya, not all of us company drivers are idiots and some of us actually give a #### not to hit your life savings. Don't like the name on my truck? Too ###### bad. I eat good thanks to Werner most weeks, like double to triple my last job good.
