unless they use HHG mile programs, then you're ####ed!
Just an update to my post above, flat rate mileage sucks, you ALWAYS end up getting screwed I've come to realize. The rates for LTL are almost 2X FLT right now, and with all the stopping the company is making money hand over fist, not paying you miles. I would estimate i'm prob making less than 60% if I was on revenue. Time to change that.

**Update**
So i'm switching to percentage in January, so excited for that. Talked to a bunch of revenue guys at my company, and got to see a bunch of numbers. It just makes sense to me, and its more time at home; with more net profit believe it or not.
Will update after i've got 3 months into the revenue game.Zeviander and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -
If you ever get tired of running for the people you are working for, my boss is always looking for more O/O's. She'll do either mileage or percentage but most of the O/O fleet seem to prefer the mileage rate oddly enough. Just need your own power, fuel and IFTA.
I can PM you more details if you are interested. -
Sounds good, where is the company? I'm out on the left coast, and have called over 100 companies in the last 2 weeks. More than half can't communicate in English, and the rest, nobody is hiring owner/ops. Can't do decks anymore, but vans and cans are fine. PM me please.BigHossVolvo and Zeviander Thank this.

Thanks for the offer, but i'm REALLY committed to this place! They treat me amazing, and all it took was one email, asking about percentage, and I was in the CEO and Ops Manager's office, being offered whatever I wanted. Good people, good equipment, lots of direct customers.
Their mileage fleet is good, I'm making more than I ever have anywhere else. Most guys like it, cause they don't want to do 8 drops and 8 picks: to much backing/strapping/paperwork they say. I prefer to use a truckstop as a staging point, and do pickups for 2 days in the area; vs crunching miles on the highway. Thus Revenue and Longer days out (with longer days home) works for me. The typical mileage schedule is 5-7 our and 36 home, cause you gotta hit that 12 000/mo, and that's tough in LTL. Revenue guys do 9000 miles, in 12-14 days and take 3-5 days off; which is more my speed.
So we shall see!Phantom Trucker and Zeviander Thank this. -
Legit question, have you talked to IHaul? couple buddies from the last company that went under ended up there. They have had great success, everyone speaks English, lots of work.
