Have a truck I need a driver for. But wondering whats the best pay scale. Use to work for a small company and was getting 4”60/40 split after fuel. Wanted to know if this is still a good pay scale or should i consider cents per mile. Am a driver so i dont want to seem like im jerking someone. Any other small company can give me some advice on how they handle pay. Thanks in advance

    1099?

go to a lawyer, get a proper contract written up, get them to write up an explanation of each clause, get EVERYTHING in writing and be very clear about who does what, including fixing problems like bad or distressed loads.
