    That's what I'm thinking as well. I would want the higher cpm vs more miles in general. Main goal now is to just find a company that won't screw me over as bad as the next. Flat bed carriers kinda swayed me in with the % pay vs cpm but even that could bite me in the end if i get the cheaper freight.

    If your thinking about percentage pay with a skate, go start a thread in the flatbed forum. Lots of hands over there can give you advise.

    I would be more then happy with something like that starting out. I considered Pepsi but they go by seniority there. Heildeberg never returned my calls, and 2 other hourly companies required 6 months of experience( filed a app anyways with both). Not to many hourly wage truck driving jobs out in my area of OH. I've looked everywhere seems like.

    Where do you live?
    @Chinatown

    Chinatown is Yoda.

    If I were going to do flatbed, I think I'd go to Melton. But they tell you up front, don't bother coming if you don't want to stay out 4 to 6 weeks, and they do a lot back east ( rain ).

    System does a lot in my neck of the woods for inexperienced drivers.

    I stay in the southwest oh area. I've never heard of Melton before but doesn't seem like a fit for me anyways. I want to be home at least twice a week

    Try and join a union outfit. They all go by seniority lol. That's how it works. You'll be happy you did 2 or 3 years from now.

    Yeah i want to work for UPS but even they're open positions require 1 to 2 years experience. They kicked me out of the app as soon as i put 0 experience on the first page lol.

    Were you looking at straight trucks for UPS or the Semi? Just curious. Not sure they would have uniform pants or shorts that would fit me. 34" waist 38" inseam :D Skinny giants are hard to clothe.
