I've heard some bad things about Logan from my ex's father who worked there for quite a while. Take that with a grain of salt since it is a single instance.

That was a rare occasion that will probably never happen again. They created a bunch of sleeper runs and neede to fill those spots in asap including some regular feeder runs.
But that won't happen again. At least not for a long time.
Even at the Hodgkins Il hub you have to be a seasonal driver to be considered. And you have to work harder than all the other seasonal drivers to get hired on........When they even have an opening for an off the street hire.

But Hodgkins Il and Louisville KY are your best bet to get hired on with off the street. They have more openings than any other hus for off the street hire because they are the two largest hubs in the world.

Louisville is the largest air hub in the world. Hodgkins is the largest ground hub in the world. Hodgkins is a feeder hub. They have no package cars.

As far as experience being a toss up. UPS WILL NOT hire you off the street with no experience. You will not even get a chance at filling out the application. Under NO circumstances.

I think you're gonna have to take what you can get and gain some experience but keep your eyes open for better positions while you do.

They used to avertise here on the radio in Cleveland on and off on 98.5 and WMMS 100.7 so that might be true. What didn't they like about Logan?
I know they haul a lot of flat bed and some dry van, but mostly flatbed.

Thanks. I just applied to them now. They seem really similar to I Supply as far as how they run but, I Supply didn't pay that well.

Apparently he had some issues with pay and with Time at home. Again take that with a grain of salt cuz it's the only instance I have of "Bad things" at Logan.

I literally have about 50 applications floating around now. I'm just going to with either TMC, NTB Trucking, or GFS if they sound right until a better job comes later down the road. Thanks everyone for the help and advice. Soaking up as much knowledge about the biz as i can get!

Well I don't know how I Supply pays, but I know all about GFS see my avatar. If they had a sales service job you could also apply for that, or transit as well. GFS does hire new people with no experience, they do not train people to get there CDL's but if you have your CDL they will hire you. We have 2 guys at my yard who were hired straight out of school and you'll do far better as far as home time, pay, benefits then any OTR company. Plus GFS as long as you do good and do alright, they do not micro manage and leave you alone it's actually really nice. There's no Qualcom in the truck beeping at you and there's stupid fleet messages coming over the Qual come take your handheld, grab your paper work do your check stuff out and take off and do your thing and come back and go home.

Yes the work can be hard, but it's not bad, they give you a 50' full of cases that's a lot of cases to get off, but remember every case you get off you get paid for, so that's all money in your pocket LOL!
