For any new guys about to start their first job, remember who you wanted info from the most. It's probably you 6 months from now. What I mean is, to hear the experience from a driver that just did what you're about to. It's important to hear the good and the bad, and you can be sure that interested newbies are always scouring these forums for what to expect the first few months. The vets can't do that. Even though they have a wealth of info, they can't share what their first month at _____ was like.

Even if you work at a big company with a handful of other threads with "My first year" titles, put yours up to. You might enjoy it, it'll be newer, and it's another POV. -
Which way is forward? I seem to be going in circles... sincerely of course! I know, it's about giving something backwords. Just don't pay too much attention to 'mon backing... or forwarding.

To the OP, information is cheap and we should offer the help to those who ask but pay it forward, I don't think it is really needed.
Here is my reason why.
What I would like people to do is to be professional in their job, think about safety while working, consider the safety of others around them and enjoy the work, but a BIG PLUS for all of us is to put a good face on our industry for the public, and try to change things for the better, and then if they are inclined to share information which is just another another professional thing then we all benefit. -

The only way that us drivers as a whole can promote a professional, safe and public perception changing environment in this industry is by sharing our experiences and knowledge that have helped us succeed. It is our duty to take the valuable information we have garnered from those around us and pass it on to the incoming drivers of tomorrow. Lead by example not only on the road but also on the Truckers Report so new drivers are compelled to do the same. -
i am in flatbed and no matter who im driving for or others i always seem to get help with tarping, securing, or even just some simple advice.
met some cool people out on the road and i try to help when i can too. reminds me there is still some good people out thereTruckDuo Thanks this. -
That's what most of us try to do. We pass on experiences that we have faced and knowledge we have gained. Sometimes, a new driver does not trust us and does what he or she feels is right. That's OK but when more than one driver is telling the same information most likely the information is worth investigating. We are by far no experts and there's times the information is wrong. No foul when it's just tips that have no legal repercussions. If it does deal with a law, rule, or regulation then without a doubt there should be a reference. A lot of times you'll see information that is passed on because that's the way that person has been doing it. Even when they say " I've been through many inspections and have no problems" does not make it legal. Always know the reference and you'll have no problem. We want you to succeed and be the best driver you can be if you choose to carry on.
Tonythetruckerdude, Brandson and TruckDuo Thank this.
