It looks like he’s based in Idaho Falls, so his base pay is mostly in line with everyone else who gets their drivers home weekly in that area.

I dont care what area of the country it is. The famous phrase "The rich get richer, the poor get poorer" is what comes to mind here.

I’m not going to argue that, I was only stating the reality of where he’s at. It’s the same in Western MT. Local pays crap, being gone Monday thru Friday pays better, but doesn’t pay as much as if you want to be gone a month at a time. Before I moved to Hawaii I could’ve made more money someplace else, but I liked having weekends off. I liked being able to put my name on the board and take time off whenever I wanted. I liked being married to my trailer and not having to drop and hook. We all have reasons to choose where we work and for me I was perfectly happy with my situation.

Bottom line is he gets the miles and gets home. He’s willing to work a little more to make an above average paycheck. Better than .50 mike @. 2000 miles per week involving a lot of sitting around in the end what matters is if it works or not. Same as working by the hour for a little less but having OT available.Ill go for the time and half OT to make a considerable amount more from OT. Boils down to total pay in a given amount of days

I make more in 7 days than the average 7 to 5 worker from my home area does in 2 weeks. The only time I made as much as I do driving truck was when I was working in a somewhat of a supervisor position (but I still did ALOT of hard physical labor, exposed to the elements outside most of the time) working 60 to 80+ hours a week. I nearly doubled my annual income when I switched to driving truck full time.
