Just for the sake of conversation. Name one industry where you sleep in your office on a regular basis.

But I totally agree with you that a good company pays enough to easily surpass yje minimum wage issue any way.

And they also vote to give themselves raises... If giving ones self and fellow peers a raise, is a vote really necessary?

What do you use at home when you take the fridge on the road with you?
A crew member would not be responsible for equipment.
Company work vehicle. NO need to compute.
If it rains for 3 days while away from home a crew still get paid
Travel expenses on top of pay.
    You sound like an employer.

This Bill will not help all truckers... I believe it could even gurt some. I sat down one time and figured out what I made PER HOUR for every COMPENSABLE hour I'm away from hime for work... Driving a truck OTR on a CPM pay basis. It worked out to just over $14 per hour for 16 hours a day for every day I was away from home!!! Why only 16 hours a day? Because by federal law employers are not required to pay for 8 hours per day if the employee is sleeping... Truckers are required to take a 10 hour break to rest or sleep. So only 16 hours per day are compensable. If someone really wants to get trucking wages to go up... They need to get Truck Drivers classified as SKILLED LABOR!!!! Not UNskilled labor as they currently are.

All the bean counters at Swift are currently trying to figure out how to convince all their drivers that getting paid minimum wage for 16 hours a day 6 days a week will be a good deal for them.
