Lol aren't you that new driver who got upset with me when I told him few months ago that it doesn't matter what he was told but only matters what he wasn't?

Ok give him a break he’s doing good for a new guy. And knows what he got himself into. The whole industry is screwed for up incomers into the industry.IluvCATS and WesternPlains Thank this.

GROSS
$1050 on 6 days
$1300 on 7 days
$1050/6=$175 per day, please check your math. i work between 9-10 hours, roughly $18-$19 per hour. unemployment pays $420 per week around here. not interested in that LOL. stocking shelves or other menial work pays $10 per hour and most of those people only get 30 hours a week. i dont mind my job, make fairly decent money so lets leave it at that please. ALLOT of people where i live make no where near $55K per year. i have a set route and know what is expected of me. grab the truck in the beginning of the day and park it right where i found it at the end of the day. pick up my 6 farms and go home, no elog, no sleeper, no eating on the road, no truck stop, no qualcom yell at. i make quite a bit more then i would if i was still at werner. frankly i dont think i have it that bad.
options for local jobs after the kids are a little older? maybe do some transport loads for my current employer if it pays more? maybe haul fuel? who knows
right now, this works with well with my wife's work schedule and i am with my children at night while she as at work. she has a county job with state funded pension and some of the best family health insurance you could possibly get. this TRUCKING job works with taking care of my kids. that's extremely rare.
when i got my CDL my goal was to support my family and be home every night. everyone sets out into this career with different objectives. after only 3 months of getting my CDL i was home every night, less then 1 year landed a steady job that was not weather dependent OR seasonal. i have so far achieved what i set out to do. i think im doing ok.Last edited: Apr 21, 2018
