I'm here at the loves getting a tire fixed. 300 miles from delivery no parking lot in sight and 10minutes on my clock left. There's a pilot .5 miles away.
How hard am I gonna get hit for a .5 mile log violation. My eld has GPS location tagging so it shows coordinates. Easy to see.

Keep that truck right where it is.
Go walk .5 miles. You can use the exercise.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
pretty sure you can do PC just to reach a "safe haven"

...and start knocking on doors asking if they're looking for "commercial company"D.Tibbitt, Midnightrider909, Bakerman and 2 others Thank this.

Those days are long past. Adopting a particular parking habit away from places like Memphis usually eliminates the problem of lice infested hookers bothering me and wife. (That has happened before)

I mean I'm driving there. This place has very few parking spots and they're full. I cant stay here in the service building. Just asking how bad is it?
-
Would that be logged 'On Duty' though?

GOOGLE can be your friend, I just googled it and got the same answer I just gave you...
-
Oh, I re-read your OP, and you're already at a truckstop, Hmmm, can you walk around to look for a spot?
I still think PC would be ok to go find a place to park, just add it to your "comments"Midwest Trucker and Tb0n3 Thank this. -
When you get the tire fixed drive the half mile to the other place. Note the violation and why. It is just that simple, don't over complicate this. Just remember though your 10 does not start till you park for the night. A half mile is a very reasonable distance!TankerP, Midwest Trucker, Mattflat362 and 8 others Thank this.
